In a stunning development, UCU members achieved the first goal of their campaign in support of Palestinian rights when the University of Derby announced it decided to de-invest from Blackrock inc. (with a total amount thought to be approximately £10 million).

The withdrawal came as a result of pressure by UCU members, and our gratitude goes to all colleagues involved in the campaign. For UCU Derby, this is just a starting point, the campaign towards fairer investments and no complicity in the genocide and occupation continues!
