UCU Derby has announced its intention to take strike action on Tuesday 2nd, Wednesday 3rd, and Thursday 4th December 2025.

We are calling on the University’s management to enter negotiations with us in advance of these days to try and stop the strike. Recent decisions by the University of Nottingham and Lancaster University to agree to no compulsory redundancies show that it is possible for universities to act reasonably and safeguard staff. There is no reason why the University of Derby cannot do the same.

However, in the meantime we will be preparing for strike action to protect members jobs.
