Next picket at The Cavendish Building at 9.30am Wednesday 3rd December.

Tuesday’s strike was an enormous success. We had over 100 picketers out, spread across four campuses (with the now infamous running picket moving between all of the Derby campuses).

We also received some great news coverage (e.g. in the Derby Telegraph) and lots of support from students.

But, day 1 is just the start. Tomorrow we head to the Cavendish Building to see what all the fuss is about. Just in case you’ve missed the story, the University has invested an enormous amount of money in building and opening the Cavendish Building. The fact that this has happened at the same time as they are laying off over 250 staff has led some people to bemoan the fact that the University management seem to be choosing bricks over brains.

So, tomorrow (Wednesday 3rd December) we will all picket in front of the Cavendish Building.

Meet at The Cavendish Building at 9.30am. We will picket and protest and then march into town for a rally.
